WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — In true lake-effect form, some areas are receiving some heavy lake-effect snow tonight, while others are getting nothing.

This is the image from LIVE FOX 17 Doppler Radar. The heaviest snow bands are currently in much of Ottawa, western Kent, Allegan, northern Van Buren, and northern Kalamazoo Counties. The snow is coming down at the rate of nearly an inch per hour in some spots.

All of West Michigan along and west of U.S. 131 is under a lake-effect snow advisory through Saturday evening. Many areas will end up with over six inches of snow by the time it ends Sunday morning.
