WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Lake-effect snow continues tonight in parts of West Michigan, though it’s not nearly as heavy as it had been earlier today in most areas.  As you can see from this image from FOX 17 radar, most of the snow is along and south of I-96 and along and north of I-94. There are still some heavier bursts in parts of Allegan and Ottawa Counties.

As is usually the case with lake-effect snow, snowfall amounts were quite variable. At the airport in Grand Rapids, for example, only 1.1″ had fallen, while in Muskegon, over six inches has been reported, and it continues to snow. Here is a look at some other amounts so far from the FOX 17 Facebook page and from the National Weather Service:

  • East Grand Rapids, 2.3 inches
  • Kalamazoo, 4.0 inches
  • Hamilton (Allegan County), 7.0 inches
  • Grand Haven, 5.5 inches
  • Pullman, 3.5 inches
  • FOX 17 Studios, 2.0 inches

The snow will continue to diminish tonight and Wednesday morning. More snow is on the way Thursday night and Friday. For the latest forecast, join us on FOX 17 News, or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
