PAW PAW, Mich. – A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Tuesday morning, after police say she crashed into a utility pole, breaking it in half.

It happened on West Michigan Avenue in the Village of Paw Paw.  A caller had alerted police about a car that crashed into a pole, and the driver was possibly trying to leave the scene.

When deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they found two people standing outside of the car.  They say a 33-year-old woman was arrested after she was found to have a BAC of .223%.  She faces charges of OWI, second offense.

Both she and her passenger were uninjured in the crash.
