WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6AM Wednesday for all of West Michigan. The wintry mix that occurred earlier today has changed over to all snow, and the snow is heavy in some spots.

Snowfall totals so far have been mostly around 2 to 4 inches, with some locally higher amounts. Here is a partial list from the FOX 17 Facebook page and the National Weather Service:

  • FOX 17 Studios (I-96 and Plainfield), 2.5 inches
  • Gerald R. Ford International, 2.0 inches
  • Grandville, 3.5 inches
  • Caledonia, 3.6 inches
  • Grand Haven, 5.5 inches
  • Muskegon, 2.0 inches

As you can see from the image of FOX 17 Radar, the snow will continue for much of the night, though it won’t be as heavy after Midnight. Total accumulations should end up in the 3 to 6 inch range.  Since temperatures are above freezing, the roads are not icy but slushy and slick.

There will likely be some delays or closings in the morning, so make sure you join FOX 17 Morning News starting at 5AM.

I’ll have a weather update on FOX 17 News at 10, and of course anytime at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
