FOX 17 Staff Prepares for 8 More Hours Of News

Doty Towne Smith on couchGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With the weekend looming, two more workdays are on the schedule for a FOX 17 news team that will be responsible for eight new hours of FOX 17 Morning News.

The broadcast will be local with news and weather updates every Saturday and Sunday 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., making FOX 17 Morning News available seven days a week. The addition also means FOX 17 has dedicated the greatest number of hours to newscasts in West Michigan.

Tim Doty and Leigh Ann Towne will share the anchor desk, with meteorologist Kelly Smith tracking your weekend weather. Tim has wide experience in news, sports, and feature reporting, and Leigh Ann has amazing connections in communities in West Michigan. Kelly graduated from Western Michigan University and has been informing viewers on local weather in communities from Mississippi to South Dakota. Tim Swore will be doing on scene reports of breaking news and weekend events.

As with all FOX 17 newscasts, live online video streams of FOX 17 Morning News Saturday and Sunday will be available on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
