GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Monday will be another very quiet day of weather around West Michigan, but a storm system passing to our south will bring parts of the area accumulating snow Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Clear skies and light winds allowed temperatures to drop off considerably Monday morning, with many locations dipping into the single digits.  Those temperatures will bounce back into the low 30s by Monday afternoon.

Clouds will start to increase late in the day, with snow developing south and west of the FOX 17 viewing area Monday night.  A few snow showers may clip areas near the Indiana border by early Tuesday morning, but the majority of the snow will fall during the afternoon into the evening.

The forecast is fairly simple for the edges of West Michigan — areas around Big Rapids and U.S. 10 will see little to no snow accumulation; locations along the Indiana state line may see as much as four to eight inches.

The difficult part of the forecast will be determining the “in-between” snow amounts, as a very sharp cutoff to the northern edge of the snow is expected.

Because the snow is still essentially 24 hours away, the forecast will be updated throughout the day Monday.  You can check out the latest on FOX 17 News and on the Weather page.
