KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A span of less than fifty miles along I-94 in Southwest Michigan makes the difference between reports of one inch and ten inches of snow from the storm that clipped the area Tuesday.

The National Weather Service reported 10.8″ of snowfall in St. Joseph, but reports from the Kalamazoo area, as well as in eastern Van Buren County,  indicated less than one inch of accumulation.

As of 7:00 A.M. Wednesday, Paw Paw reported 1.3″ of snow, with three inches in Constantine.

Schools were closed across Berrien and Cass counties Wednesday, as well as in southern St. Joseph and parts of Branch County.

Elsewhere, a dry east to northeast wind prevented snow from advancing further northward.  Grand Rapids and Muskegon reported no snow at all Tuesday.

For Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies will hold on around the Great Lakes, with a chance of a few flurries especially later today and tonight.

A warmup is forecast for the weekend — you can check out the full 7 Day forecast on the Weather page.  If you have photos or reports of snow from Southwest Michigan, please post them on the FOX 17 Facebook page.
