WHITEWATER, Wisc – Hope College women’s basketball team defeated St. Thomas (MN) 71-61 to advance to the Elite 8 of the NCAA division 3 tournament. Brittany Berry (GR Catholic Central) led all scorers with 20 points, Liz Ellis (East Grand Rapids) scored 11 and Courtney Kust added 10. For the game Hope shot 57% including 65% in the 2nd half.
The Dutch advance to play the host Wisconsin-Whitewater Saturday at 7 p.m.. Hope defeated Whitewater 63-52 in Holland back in December. The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to the Final Four next weekend at Hope’s DeVos Fieldhouse.
