WEST MICHIGAN – The attached snapshot is from our FOX 17 FutureTrack HD computer forecast model valid Monday at noon. It shows a rain/snow mix moving in to the area from the south and west.
We may be lucky enough to briefly reach in to the 40s on Monday ahead of our next weather-maker, otherwise the entire upcoming week is expected to be well below normal in high temperatures. The precipitation coming in Monday will arrive from two systems…one coming in from the west, and another coming up from the south and west. Both will converge on Michigan and likely generate a rain/snow mix as we head through the day.
Behind the system on Tuesday, the low will strengthen, winds will increase, and some lake-effect snow showers are possible in to Thursday morning before the winds finally go north. Unfortunately, this system will pull down some sharply colder air and temps will be running about 15 to 20 degrees below normal. There are indications that we should warm back to around 40 by next weekend. Get the complete West Michigan forecast by going to www.fox17online.com/weather.
