LANSING, Mich. — Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm says her name will not be on the ballot to fill departing senator Carl Levin’s seat.

Granholm had been considered a possible canidate for the vacated democrat’s seat, but was resistant on running ever since Levin announced he was not in favor of re-election for 2014.

Granholm posted on her Facebook page that there were several reason why running for senate would not be right for her family just yet.

There are no more specifics on her reasonings.

Other democrats considering running for the vacated spot, include a longtime activist Debbie Dingell.

Congressman Gary Peters is also interested in running.

Earlier this month, there was speculation that Mitt Romney’s brother Scott might run for Levin’s position.
