WEST MICHIGAN – While we are NOT expecting heavy rain across the area, the Easter Bunny himself may need an umbrella or raincoat just to keep the fur dry. Some light showers are expected Saturday night in to early Sunday morning as a frontal system moves through the state. Most places will only a tenth of an inch or so of liquid precipitation.
Temperatures will be somewhat mild for church goers and Easter Sunday service in the morning as lows drop to only around 40 or so. Winds are expected to pick up later in the day from the west at about 10 to 20 mph. Colder air will start to filter in later in the day too after our highs in the upper 40s are hit around mid–day.
While Easter Sunday is the last day in March, April will begin on Monday sharply cooler with readings only in the mid/upper 30s. While we don’t expect accumulations, lake-effect snow showers and flurries are likely Monday and Tuesday as the air coming across Lake Michigan will be cold enough to generate some light precipitation. We should be back to sunshine on Wednesday as high pressure builds back in to the region and temps get back to the 40s.
The attached photo was submitted to FOX 17 by viewer Bill Beatty in Muskegon. A little frost on the bunny and egg could be seen across most of the area early Saturday morning as temps dipped in to the mid 20s.
