OLIVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A home in Ottawa County was hit by a bullet on Tuesday night, and police believe it came from a nearby state game area.

It happened at around 7:30 p.m. at a home on Port Sheldon between 120th and 112th in Olive Township.  The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was called to reports that a bullet had gone through the wall of the home, and that nobody was hurt in the apparent shooting.

Upon further investigation, deputies went to a nearby state game area, and found a man who was sighting two rifles.  He told the deputies that he had shot at an area that was covered by water, in the direction of Port Sheldon Road.  The incident remains under investigation.
