Monday Forecast: Wet & Breezy

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — We may still be in the process of putting away winter gear, but people in West Michigan will be hunting for umbrellas and rain boots  over the next few days.

Showers and possibly some thunder will slide through the region during the day Monday, bringing the chance of some heavy rain at times.  The first round of rain will move out late in the day and leave us with mostly cloudy and mainly dry conditions Monday night.

A nearly stationary front will set up shop in the southern Great Lakes for Tuesday and Wednesday, with additional rounds of showers and storms likely each day.  Temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s north of the front, but in the 60s and 70s south of it.  That makes for a challenging forecast for the next couple of days.

Heavy rain is the greatest threat at this point for West Michigan, although some severe weather is likely south of the state, especially on Wednesday.

Colder air is expected for the late stages of the week, with highs only in the low 40s.
