FLINT, Mich- After spending five years in a comatose state, a woman in Flint is making up for lost time.

On Thursday, she will be escorted by a limo to go see Bob Seger at the Palace of Auburn Hills.  79-year-old Evie Branan spent five years in a semi-coma . Doctors say she would blankly stare ahead and not say anything.

Then, in May of 2011, Evie got up for the first time in years. While trying to go to the restroom, she slipped and bumped her head. That’s when she claims the memories started coming back.

“My memory started coming back not all at once just gradually. But they said when I woke up one morning, the first words out of my mouth were ‘I want to go to a Bob Seger concert,’ and what made me say that, I still can’t figure out why,” says Evie.

The people at Willowbrook Manor, which is the nursing home Evie stays at, took her request to heart.

“I’ve never seen this and it was just something that was really touching to me. That this lady had lost a lot of her life and she’s getting it back, but I wanted to give her what she missed,” says Michelle Cross of Willowbook.

This isn’t Branon’s first time seeing Seger in concert. She’s actually been to several of his shows, but this time, she’s hoping to give him a hug and a kiss.
