GRAND RAPIDS, Mich- Starting Monday Morning, one lane of US 131 Northbound from the I-196 interchange to Ann St. will be closed until September 25th. MODT will be replacing and widening the decks on the Richmond Street and Indian Mill Creek/railroad bridges. Patching the deck and repairing the substructure on the Ann Street bridge. Lengthening the pedestrian tunnel to accommodate the widening of US-131.
On selected weekends MDOT will close two lanes.
Also the ramp from eastbound I-196 to northbound US-131 will close for construction this Monday at 9 a.m. through September 25.
MDOT suggest taking this detour- Take eastbound I-196 to College Avenue, turn left (north) on College Avenue and then left onto westbound I-196 to northbound US-131.
All of this work is weather dependent.
