GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While most of our attention is focused on the biggest highway projects, a number of lane closures are popping up around West Michigan as crews make repairs.
Tens of thousands of drivers are affected every day by the lane closure on northbound US-131 north of downtown Grand Rapids. Those same drivers will encounter road crews in a lot of other places.
Here is a list of the many ways you may encounter an unexpected lane closure:
KENT COUNTY
- US-131 northbound from Hall Street to Ann Street, two left lanes closed all weekend from Friday, April 19, 9 p.m., to Monday, April 22, 5 a.m. (Map)
- I-196 eastbound at the Grand River/Market Avenue, left lane closed nightly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through April 30. (Map)
MUSKEGON COUNTY
- I-96 and Seaway Drive, left lane is closed between Hile Road and Airport Road until April 19 at 9 p.m. for freeway lighting project. (Map)
- US-31 in Muskegon, lane closures northbound and southbound between Hile Road and Shettler Road, April 22 through April 26 for freeway lighting project. (Map)
KALAMAZOO COUNTY
- I-94 between the Van Buren County line and the Calhoun County line, moving lane closure for cleaning crews nightly 9 p-m to 6 am through Thursday, April 18. (Map)
CALHOUN COUNTY
- I-94 east of Columbia Avenue/Exit 92: Occasional lane closures westbound and eastbound nightly after 7 p.m. Through April 20 6 a.m. (Map)
MECOSTA COUNTY
- US-131 in mile 125, lane closures northbound and southbound on the bridges over the Little Muskegon River, Morley, from April 22 through May 29. (Map)
