Friday Forecast: Now We’re Getting Somewhere

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After another couple of chilly days in West Michigan, temperatures will start to feel more like late April over the weekend, with the first 70° reading of the year in Grand Rapids likely early next week.

A southerly breeze will help to push temperatures into the low 60s Friday afternoon, with sunshine expected throughout the day.

A few clouds are possible late Friday or early Saturday, but mostly sunny conditions should prevail through the majority of the weekend.  Temperatures will continue to climb into the mid-to-upper 60s by Sunday, with highs near 70° Monday through Wednesday next week.  However, rain chances will increase again early next week.

Also of note is the fact that the Grand River has officially dropped back below flood stage at the Grand Rapids measurement point (although it remains high and above flood stage in other locations).  You can find the latest river forecasts on the National Weather Service hydrology page.
