Fire At Marathon Oil Refinery

DETROIT, Mich-  People in a Southwest Detroit neighborhood are being told they can come home again after a fire at a nearby refinery forced them to leave.

Police in Melvindale say some residents were evacuated on Saturday after reports that fumes were coming from a diesel tank that exploded at the Marathon Oil Refinery. Several witnesses reported hearing and feeling an explosion come from the direction of the facility.

WDIV is reporting that air testing has determined the area is safe.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
