GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It’s been a long time coming for many of us…extended dry, comfortable, 70 degree weather. Wait no longer! The attached photo shows that Grand Rapids hit 70 degrees on Saturday with full sunshine and a light , warm breeze.
As a meteorologist, it’s nice to know we’re just going in to this weather instead of coming out of it (Spring vs. Fall). There are a few more warm days on tap before temperatures get pulled back in to the 50s later next week. You’ll also find a few chances of rain coming up as well, but it appears the heaviest our these April showers are behind us with the river flooding and saturated ground over the past two weeks.
Take a look here at the eight to ten day temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center. It’s also interesting to see the United States Drought Monitor here. Notice most of the eastern third of the nation is no longer under any type of drought. We’ve simply caught up…but it was a tough price to pay for many with heavy April rains and flooding.
