Grand Valley State University and GRPS Approve Charter Schools

generic schoolGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Valley State University Administrators, along with Grand Rapids city officials and Grand Rapids Public Schools, voted to approve 4 new charter high schools.

The vote came down on Monday. One of the new schools is Covenant House Academy Grand Rapids, which is designed for students ages 16 to 22 who are homeless or former drop-outs.

Covenant House Academy will be located at the old Campau Park Elementary building.

Grand Rapids Public Schools and Covenant House are now working together for things like food services and school safety.
