Afternoon Robbery At Calhoun County Party Store

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — A Sheridan Township party store was robbed Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Short Stoppe party store at 116 N. Clark St. in Sheridan Township.

Deputies said a lone male entered the business wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark glasses and a scarf that obscured his face.  He demanded money from the cashier and displayed a handgun.

The robber then fled on foot after obtaining a small amount of cash.

The cashier was not injured.

The suspect is believed to be a white male approximately 25, standing 5-feet-7 and weighing 170 pounds with short hair.
