vidNORTON SHORES, Mich.– New surveillance video is surfacing that could help police find missing mother, Jessica Heeringa.

With merchandise like rare coins, Keith Boyer, president of Coin Zone in Norton Shores, has a lot of reasons to keep a lot of eyes on his store. But Boyer never thought one of his surveillance cameras would be crucial in helping solve a missing person’s case.

It was actually Jessica Heeringa’s fiance that noticed the surveillance cameras on the front of the Coin Zone, with a clear view of Grand Haven Road. He thought maybe they could help find her. Sure enough, police took a look and agreed.

“It catches traffic both ways on Grand Haven Road,” said Boyer. “It catches traffic heading southbound. It can actually, with the help of police and their sophisticated equipment, can probably pull the license plate of a vehicle. But northbound, which our camera catches a better view of, there’s no plate in the front. Therefore, it can probably catch who is driving the car.”

His video is one of the only images of Jessica might have been taken the night she disappeared.

Boyer says it’s a good feeling, knowing his video could help find something more valuable than the gold and silver in his store.

“It’s feels good to be able to help,” said Boyer. “If it was my wife or kid, I’d be hitting the streets as well.”
