Suspect Arraigned in Convenience Store Shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Robert Earl Pratt Jr., 26, was arraigned on Tuesday in a shooting at the Dayshas Convenience Store Friday night.

Pratt faces two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearms, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

The charges are connected to a shooting that happened at the store in the 700 block of Douglas Street.

Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers say a 23-year-old Kalamazoo man suffered multiple gun shot wounds and a 49-year-old Kalamazoo man suffered a single gun shot wound. The younger man remains at Bronson Hospital in serious condition.

Pratt is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail on a $250,000 bond. His preliminary examination is scheduled for May 13.
