Teenager Shot Dead While Walking

MUSKEGON, Mich — Police are investigating the early-morning homicide of a teenager in Muskegon.

Around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, they received a call of a person who had been shot while walking. When officers got to the 1300 block of 5th Street, they found 17-year-old Elijah Jaquan Henderson of Muskegon had been shot and was unresponsive.

Henderson was taken in an ambulance to Mercy Health Partners and pronounced dead.

Police need your help as they continue the investigation, and they ask you to call Silent Observer at 72-CRIME if you may know anything.

    Why is it, the anti-gun crowd always ignore stories like this but jump to comment when it involves violating the rights of lawful gun owners?

    Why was this child out so late? He should have been in bed sleeping for school today. If the parents allowed him to be up that late then I would put some of the blame on the parents.

    Does it matter why, someone lost a son , a brother, a godson, a friend, a nephew etc….a mother and many people are grieving….respect the family. That is where the world is wrong always looking to put blame on the victim. I hope whomever is casting stones, doesn't live in a glass house! God please ease the burden this family is enduring.
