NORTON SHORES, Mich. — FOX 17 has confirmed that the man police interviewed for six hours Thursay night has agreed to a polygraph test.

The man was driving a minivan similar to the one being sought in the suspected abduction of Jessica Heeringa when he was pulled over and taken in for questioning.

Norton Shores police confirmed that while the man was released Thursday night, he is a person of interest and not cleared in the case.

He is officially the fifth person of interest police have looked at since Heeringa disappeared from her job at a gas station last Friday night. But all others were considered and cleared last weekend.

The minivan was searched Thursday night while police sought to get the man to agree to a polygraph test. Investigators hope to have answers about the man later Thursday.

Police plan to sit down with Heeringa’s family to show them everything they are doing in the investigation.
