WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thursday marks the second anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Navy SEAL Team Six conducted the raid on a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where Bin Laden was hiding out.

It was May 2, 2011, in Pakistan, but here in the U.S. it was just before midnight on May 1.  President Obama broke the news to the nation as word of Bin Laden’s death had already started spreading on the Internet and social media.

Over the past two years, one former SEAL has detailed the mission in a best-selling book, and the operation was portrayed in the film “Zero Dark Thirty.”
