Friday Forecast: Another Round of P.M. Storms

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Weather Friday will follow a similar pattern to Thursday’s around West Michigan, with some scattered showers developing after midday and a lake breeze creating cooler conditions for parts of the area.

Thursday, temperatures shot into the 70s and low 80s around the region before a lake breeze kicked in and dropped readings back into the 40s and 50s for many lakeshore communities.  Inland areas won’t be quite as warm Friday with some additional cloud cover, but it will still be considerably cooler up and down the lakeshore.

That shift in the winds will also generate enough of a boost to pop some scattered thunderstorms once again.  The prime locations for rain will once again be along and west of U.S. 131.  Showers and storms will likely be a bit more prevalent than Thursday, but should still diminish by late Friday night.

Beyond that, dry weather with partial sunshine will prevail through the weekend into the first half of next week, with high temperatures holding near 70°.
