Memorial Lacrosse Tournament Honors Nick Aitchison

LacrosseALTO, Mich- Lacrosse players from all over Michigan came to Alto to partake in the Third Annual Nick Aitchison Memorial Lacrosse tournament. Nick passed away six years in a car accident, just before his 17th birthday.

The event was held at the Polo Fields in Alto. Forest Hills Northern, Caledonia, Lowell, Battle Creek, Muskegon and East Grand Rapids all participated in this tournament.

Nick was an avid lacrosse player and referee, he volunteered with elementary students at the YMCA to teach them lacrosse.  In Nick’s Memory, the Nick Aitchison Memorial Lacrosse Foundation was created to sponsor youth and teens wanting to play lacrosse but in need of financial support. The Foundation also collects and provides at no cost used lacrosse equipment for players in need.
