NORTON SHORES, Mich.– It was a week ago Sunday; Norton Shores Police declared that Jessica Heeringa was abducted. Since then more than 1,000 tips have poured in, her family and investigators working tirelessly to find answers.

Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw says investigators interviewed more than 8 people Sunday.Tthat means this weekend alone they’ve questioned more than 20 people and they’re gearing up for another busy week. The task force made up of more than 50 investigators from agencies around the state has dedicated another week to this investigation, determined to find answers.

Every person of interest investigators have questioned in the case, they’ve collected their cell phone data through a device called “Cellebrite”, everything from call history to contacts.

“We’re combining it all into one database and searching their contacts against anybody who matches description, or anybody who has a gray van or anybody who is on the sex offender list and those people we are identifying.”

They’re working with a secret service agent from Detroit who volunteered his time to help, “he can then manipulate the data to locate those people who are linked through those three criteria.”

It’s just one part to this case they continue to work. The chief says tips are still pouring in daily, many of which are still very relevant. High priority tips that match 2 or 3 of the criteria they’re looking for.

“This person has a silver van that we haven’t heard about before, this guy matches the description, just got his name so were running off to find all these people.”
