Monday Forecast: Gradually Increasing Rain Chances This Week

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Monday is likely to stay dry around all of West Michigan, but we’ll see an increasing chance of rain over the course of the workweek.  Temperatures will remain pleasant during that time.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be fairly similar in that we have an upper-level low spinning slowly off to the southeast.  On the outer fringe of this system, we may see some intermittent clouds Monday.  Moisture will increase enough Tuesday and Wednesday that there may be a few pop-up showers isolated south and/or east of Grand Rapids in the afternoons.

Rain chances become more widespread Thursday through Saturday as a pair of systems move in.  The stronger one will arrive on Saturday and pull some cooler air back into the region.

We’ll be watching the timing of rain chances closely, with huge outdoor events like the Fifth Third River Bank Run and the Tulip Time Muziekparade coming up Saturday.
