WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — This past weekend was the first time in nearly eight months temperatures were in the 70s and there was no rain. This may have inspired many people in West Michigan to get a jump start on planting. It’s probably not a good idea yet, since there could be some frost Sunday Night/Monday Morning. FOX 17 is forecasting a low of 33.
The good news is fairly obvious– there is no drought in progress this year. This image from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows all of Michigan, as well as adjoining states, are drought-free. Now that the growing season is underway, we will update the drought status weekly here on this page.
