GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A charge of open murder was authorized for the murder of Latrice Maze, a mother of five who went missing March 19th.

According to the Kent County Prosecutor’s office charges were issued for Maze’s former boyfriend, Jahleel Hoskins.  The charge is for open murder and tampering with evidence, as first reported via Twitter by FOX 17’s Mitch Fick.

Last week, family members told FOX 17 Maze’s disappearance classified as a homicide investigation; however, Grand Rapids Police Department would not comment on the details of the case.  The department did say, however, Maze’s disappearance has turned criminal.

FOX 17 checked and Hoskins is in the Kent County Jail for a parole charge. He is being held without bond.

Maze’s body has not yet been found.

It saddens me to hear that this young lady has departed this life. I know that God has control of this situation, so I don't question that. It just hurt so bad because I know what the pain feels like to lose a child. I have cried for Latrice and her babies because it hits so close to home. I hope that Latrices mother raise Latrices 5 children because that's what a grandmother does. Yes, it is hard after not having to raise children for 30 years but I do it. So I just want Latrices mom to stay strong and do what we as grandmothers do. REST IN PARADISE LATRICE!!!!
