GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Mustaches were big at Laughfest, and they will be the center of attention again this weekend.
Making Smiles for Hope will host a Mustache Masquerade fundraiser on Friday. The organization hosts workshops for people to make headbands, hats, and mustaches along with other items for children who are sick with cancer and other illnesses.
The Mustache Masquerade will feature live and local music, mustache themed games, and mustache competitions: the Au’stacherale real mustache competition, the Mustachquerade competition that features masks combined with mustaches, and the Pseudostache competition where contestants create their own mustache.
The competition is open to anyone 21 years old and up, and includes a $5 minimum registration donation. The winners will receive trophies and prizes.
The live entertainment includes Deadwood Stone, Karisa Wilson, and Brendan Devlin.
The event will run from 6 p.m. until midnight at The Intersection on 133 Grandville Ave. in Grand Rapids.
