GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Much of the daytime will remain dry Thursday, but a cold front will bring showers and storms late in the day, followed by significantly cooler air as the weekend approaches.

After morning sunshine, clouds will increase Thursday afternoon, with some showers becoming more likely late in the day.  The bulk of the rain should move through during the evening and overnight periods of Thursday night.  Thunderstorms are also likely, although severe weather is not anticipated.

Rain will gradually move out during the day Friday, with mostly cloudy and cooler conditions hanging on for the rest of the day.

A second cold front will arrive during the day Saturday.  While it may bring a few showers with it, the moisture will not be as plentiful.  Only a few brief showers are likely in any given location, especially in the midday timeframe.  That means events like the Fifth Third River Bank Run and the Tulip Time Muziekparade should be OK Saturday, although a bit on the chilly side, relatively speaking.

Mother’s Day will feature a bit more sun, but with cool conditions continuing.
