Cool Temps, Wind, Few Showers Accompany Muziekparade

Posted

HOLLAND, Mich. – While the traditional Muziekparade in Holland may have come off without too much of a hitch, Mother Nature was less than cooperative. A few showers, breezy conditions, and temperatures only in the upper 40s were with parade goers and participants.

Holland actually reported a non-thunderstorm wind gust of 41 mph. Despite the fact the weather didn’t cooperate, parade attendees always seem to enjoy themselves. FOX 17 News Anchor Christian Frank along with FOX 17 Meteorologist Rick Mecklenburg were the Grand Marshalls this year.  The attached photo was taken at the parade of our FOX 17 Mascot A.K.A. Ralphie Frank…yes it’s Christian’s dog!

The Muziekparade is considered the final caveat concluding a culmination of a week of Tulip Time events. Most of the weather this week was fabulous for many of the earlier activities, but it’s tough to get a week straight of dry weather in early/mid May. That said, there certainly was no denying the beauty of the tulips in bloom around the city. I was there on Wednesday for the old-time classic cars and things looked great.

The weekend is expected to remain chilly, but a warm up will ensue as we head through next week. Click over to www.fox17online.com./weather for the complete forecast. Have a pleasant weekend!
