GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After a potentially damaging freeze around West Michigan Monday morning, temperatures will start to climb over the next couple of days.

Clear skies and light winds allowed temperatures in many locations to drop into the upper 20s and low 30s Monday morning.  Officially, Grand Rapids hit 29°, just two degrees off the record of 27° set in 1946.  Many other locations were also in the mid- to upper-20s — you can see the full list at this link.

Sunshine will be more plentiful Monday, which will help temperatures back into the 50s.

Some clouds will return Monday night into Tuesday, with a chance of some scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm as a warm front lifts into the region.  That warm front will get temperatures back into the 70s for Tuesday afternoon, with milder air hanging around for the rest of the week.
