WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — After a cold weekend and a cool Monday, much warmer temperatures are on the way on Tuesday.
This image from our in-house computer model shows the temperatures at 7pm Tuesday. These readings are easily at least 20º warmer than the highs in the 50s on Monday. There could be a few showers Tuesday morning as the warmer air moves in, though most areas won’t get much.
The warmer temperatures may be welcome for a lot of people after some near-record temperatures. On Sunday, the high temperature in Grand Rapids was 46º. This was the third coldest May 12 on record. Only 2006, with a high temperature of 44º in 2006 and 43º in 1966 were colder than Sunday.
Further, the low temperature on Monday in Grand Rapids was 29º. This too was the third coldest low temperature for May 13. Only 1996, with a low of 28º, and 1946, with a low of 27º, were colder.
The warmer temperatures will be around for a while. For the latest forecast, join us on FOX 17 News, or visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
