GENEVA TWP, Mich — A motorcyclist and his passenger are recovering from injuries after rear-ending a car in Van Buren County.

Around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, a 25-year-old Arkansas man driving a four-door car was traveling eastbound on CR 388. The driver slowed down for a vehicle turning in front of him, but it was too quick of a slowdown for the motorcycle behind him.

A 63-year-old man and 62-year-old woman, both from Kalamazoo, were riding the motorcycle. They could not slow down in time, and hit the back of the car. Both passengers were thrown off the bike. Neither one appears to have life-threatening injuries but both were taken in an ambulance to the hospital at South Haven. The man was cited for failing to stop in assured clear distance.
