GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After a beautiful weekend we will start the new work week with some more active weather. A low pressure system in the Great Plains will slowly move east over the first half of the work week. Warm temperatures and moisture will provide the ingredients for storms to become strong to severe on Monday afternoon. A slight risk for severe weather was put into place for Monday by the Storm Prediction Center. The main risk will be gusty winds and small hail.
This slow-moving low pressure system will bring on and off chances for showers and thunderstorms for the first half of the week before bringing a cold front in mid-week which will drop temperatures and dry us out just in time for the holiday weekend.
