Man Shot Twice On GR’s Southeast Side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man sustained two gunshot wounds on the city’s southeast side Tuesday night.

At 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of Underwood Avenue SE and Fisk Road SE in Grand Rapids. Upon arriving at the scene officers found a man who had been shot once in the thigh and once in the buttocks, and he was transported to the hospital.

Police told FOX 17 NEWS that the man’s injuries were not life threatening.

Officers discovered two handguns in the back yard of a nearby home. They have no suspects in custody and no suspect information about the shooter.

Police at the scene told FOX 17 NEWS that the shooting involved two groups of people, but only one gunshot victim.

A couple of houses were hit by stray bullets.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department, which taped off the entire intersection, closing it off to traffic.
