NEW YORK, N.Y. – Disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner is seeking public office once again, this time running for Mayor of New York City.
He announced his candidacy on Wednesday in a video on his campaign website.
Weiner says he’s running because he’s been fighting his entire life for the middle class and for those who are struggling to make it, and he hopes to get a second chance. He also ran for mayor in 2005.
He resigned from congress nearly two years ago after a sexting scandal.
