MUSKEGON, Mich. – A WWII era fleet submarine just arrived at the new USS Flier exhibit at the USS Silversides Submarine museum on Saturday.

The exhibit is dedicated to the memory of the lost WWII Submarine in August of 1944 after patrolling the Balabac Strait in the South Pacific.

The exhibit opens at 11 a.m. with a special all-day ticket to view both the museum and submarines at 1346 Bluff Street. There is also a Lost Boat Ceremony all day starting at 11 a.m. on May 26, which honors the 3,500 WWII submariners lost during the Great War.

Two keynote speakers will be attending as well, including Vice Admiral Albert Konetzni Jr., a deputy commander of the US Atlantic Fleet, and State Senator Geoff Hansen.

The museum is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
