WEST MICHIGAN – The attached radar snapshot shows some active weather occurring south/west of Michigan. In fact, that’s a tornado watch box out for part of Nebraska. Even a few showers and thunderstorms will track (mainly) just outside of Michigan overnight.

As a warm front lifts a bit closer to Michigan on Monday, we may see a few rain showers toward morning in the extreme southwest portion of the state. As the day goes on, chances for more rain showers will increase across the area through the afternoon with a few thunderstorms possible late in the day and by evening. The extensive cloudiness will probably hold our temperatures in the 60s most of the day, but a brisk southeast wind will help get some locations to near 70.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has part of our FOX 17 viewing area in a slight risk for severe weather on Tuesday. Click hereto see the outlook. It’s mainly for areas north/west of Grand Rapids. We’ll have more chances for showers and thunderstorms later in the week too as heat and humidity build again by mid-week and temps approach the mid 80s.
