GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Veterans and active military personnel can grab some great deals all around West Michigan in celebration of Memorial Day.
Locally, the 28th Street shop Tropical Smoothie Cafe has free smoothies for veterans and active military personnel. Just bring your military ID, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Non military members can snag a smoothie for just $.99 if you wear something with a flag on it.
The Memorial Day Freebies website compiles many of these discounts for you. Some of them include:
- 10 percent discount at Home Depot for active-duty, National Guard and reserve, retiree and disabled service members, honorably discharged veterans, and their spouses and dependent children
- 10 free wings at Hooters for military veterans and those on active duty
- 20 percent off for veterans and those on active duty
- 10 percent off at Outback Steakhouse
