Tips Lead To Armed Robbery Arrest

Timothy RogersCANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich- On Thursday May 24th, Kent County Sheriff Deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Citgo Gas Station on Belding Road in Cannon Township. The suspect with a towel covering his face, he implied he had a weapon and demanded money.

The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money. Two customers arrived at the gas station as the suspect was fleeing the scene and they followed him until they lost sight of him along Blakely Drive. The witnesses later located the vehicle in a ditch on Blakely Driver near 7 Mile Road.

Soon after that a Kent County Deputy saw a person walking along the road that matched the physical description of the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody after being identified by the  clerk and the witnesses.

Timothy Lee Rogers, 39, of Belmont is charged with one count of Armed Robbery. Rogers was arraigned in the 63rd District Court and is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
