American Red Cross to Host Wes Leonard Blood Drive

Portable defibrillator medical health heartFENNVILLE, Mich. – The 2nd Annual “Never Forgotten—Wes Leonard Memorial Blood Drive” is being held Friday at the Fennville Community Athletic Center from noon until 7:45 p.m.

The American Red Cross will donate one automated external defibrillator (AED) to the Wes Leonard Heart Team during the opening ceremony. The AED will be given to a school or organization on the Heart Team waiting list.

Wes Leonard was a senior at Fennville High School who passed away unexpectedly on the basketball court after making the game-winning shot to send the school’s team to the State Regional playoffs.

Everyone who turns out to donate will receive a “Never Forgotten—Wes Leonard” t-shirt.
