GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Scattered showers and storms Friday morning will move out of West Michigan, but another round of stronger storms may hit parts of the area later in the day.

Warm and humid air remains around much of the region, which will serve as fuel for additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms as an upper-level system gradually moves into the Great Lakes.

Chances of severe weather will increase if sunshine reappears around West Michigan during the day Friday.  A slight chance of severe weather also exists Saturday before a cold front moves into the area Saturday night.

A few showers may linger into early Sunday before dry air returns.  Cooler air will arrive as well, leaving us with temperatures only in the 60s for the end of the weekend.

We’ll have updates if severe weather threatens; check out interactive radar and the rest of the 7 Day Forecast on the Weather page.
