WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Showers and thunderstorms have danced around parts of the midwest Friday night, but those storms have largely missed West Michigan.

This image from FOX 17 radar shows severe thunderstorms as close to us as Northern Indiana. Some of these storms moved into St. Joseph, Branch, and Hillsdale Counties but no severe weather was reported. During the rest of the night, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms. The severe weather threat, however, looks low. That could change Saturday as a strong cold front moves into Michigan from the west.

Meteorologist Kelly Smith will have a weather update on FOX 17 Morning News starting at 5AM, and of course you can always visit the weather page at http://www.fox17online.com/weather
