BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Want to schmooze with the animals and have a few glasses of wine while you’re at it? Then you might want to check out the The “Corks for Conservation” event at the Binder Park Zoo.

The event takes place from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. inside the zoo on Saturday where live music, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and plenty of Michigan wine and beer will be presented.

The event, sponsored by Service System Associates, will be providing food by “Taste of the Wild Catering” and the band “Who Hit John”.

Microbrews from Arcadia Brewing Company will be included, with proceeds from the event supporting the zoo’s many conservation initiatives.

“We’ve had wonderful participation by the community every year allowing us to raise important resources which go toward supporting our conservation initiatives here at the zoo”, states Amy Riegel, Binder park Zoo CFO and event chair.  “This adults-only event is fun and entertaining, but most importantly, it helps further our mission to nurture empathy, understanding and conservation of nature.”

There is also a VIP wine tasting class sponsored by Atlas Sales at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the class are on the zoo website and pre-registration is required.

The zoo will close at 5 p.m., with gates for the event opening at 6 p.m.
