WAYLAND, Mich. – Two motorcyclists fled from Wayland troopers Wednesday night for over 22 miles, with one still missing.

According to Michigan State Police Wayland Troopers, the two motorcyclists were traveling southbound US-131 from Grand Rapids at high speeds and were weaving through traffic recklessly. Troopers were sitting near the US-131 Wayland entrance ramp when they saw the two suspects passing. They then tried conducting a traffic stop, but both motorcyclists sped up and took off.

The chase continued for over 22 miles at speeds over 140 mph, until one motorcycle ran out of fuel and pulled over near the US-131 business loop in Kalamazoo County.

The driver was arrested for felony fleeing and eluding and was found to have a valid warrant out of Kent County and was currently suspended. The second driver continued on southbound US-131 and was not caught. Troopers got ahold of the second driver’s identity and a felony warrant for his arrest is pending.
